Paul Mullin enjoyed a “glorious weekend” despite remaining exiled from Wrexham’s first team.
Wrexham kept their League One promotion hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Rotherham United on Saturday, while Mullin’s beloved Liverpool defeated Southampton 3-1 to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. Despite being left out of the Red Dragons’ squad once again, the 30-year-old remained positive.
He wrote in an Instagram story: “What a glorious weekend. @wrexham_afc win @liverpoolfc win.”
Mullin hasn’t featured for Wrexham in League One since late January, with winter signings Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez now preferred ahead of him. At this pace, the Wrexham legend’s time at the club may be nearing its end.
Mullin will be eager to return to action soon, beginning with Wrexham’s trip to Reading on Tuesday. After 35 games, Wrexham sit third in the League One table, trailing second-placed Wycombe only on goal difference as the battle for automatic promotion intensifies.
