Alisson calls Liverpool's Champions League win over PSG the 'performance of his life,' admitting the Reds 'suffered.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker described his performance in the 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain as the “best of my life.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Liverpool secured a stunning win in Paris during the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash, with Harvey Elliott netting the decisive goal. Alisson was the standout performer, making a career-high nine saves in a Liverpool jersey to preserve the clean sheet under heavy pressure. The Reds will return to Anfield with a narrow advantage.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

PSG fired 27 shots during the game, while Liverpool managed just two. Alisson declared it his best-ever performance but acknowledged that Arne Slot’s team had to “suffer” through the full 90 minutes.

WHAT ALISSON SAID

Alisson told TNT Sports: “It was probably the performance of my life. The manager was telling us how hard it would be to play against PSG, how good they are with the ball and that we would have to be ready to suffer. We knew what was coming. We worked hard. We gave away so many chances, sometimes one v one but the biggest part of the chase is having someone make the player with the chance think a bit more.

“All the efforts the team put in makes my job easier. Then at the end Harvey [Elliott] coming in and scoring the goal, it is a great story for us. A great night.”
