Ruben Amorim, Manchester United's manager, maintains he has no plans to resign, though he acknowledges that poor results could cost him his job.
Ahead of the Europa League final against Tottenham, Ruben Amorim strikes a more optimistic note about his Manchester United future, insisting he has a “clear plan” to revive the club—just days after suggesting he might quit next season if their poor Premier League form persists.
Amorim admitted feeling “humiliated” when West Ham secured their first victory at Old Trafford in nine meetings, leapfrogging United in the standings. The Red Devils’ disastrous Premier League season has seen them slump to 16th place after suffering 17 defeats.
The United manager cautioned that all at the club need to “carefully reconsider many issues,” adding that some may need to “step aside for fresh leadership” if performances don’t improve post-summer.
However, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Europa League final against Tottenham, Amorim firmly denied any intention of resigning from his position.
When questioned about potentially stepping down, Amorim responded firmly: “Leaving is the last thing on my mind.”
“What I am saying is that since I arrived here I am always talking about the standards. I cannot see the team having these results, especially in the Premier League, and not say something and take responsibility,” he added.
“I have a clear plan of what to do. I understand the problems of the team.”
